Google has started releasing the Pixel 8a’s new Software update that includes the May Android security patch, but the biggest news is that the new AI feature has been added to the Pixel 8a. Just like the other Pixel 8 phones in the series, the new Pixel 8a has an AI wallpaper built-in that allows users to create a background using pre-defined prompts – users can personalize the wallpaper by entering themes and keywords.
In addition to the AI wallpaper, the software update also brings bug fixes and improvements to the overall performance of the Pixel 8a, bringing it closer to the other models in the Pixel 8 series.
For reference, the new Pixel 8a was launched on May 7, and it is the newest model in the Pixel 8 lineup, and it boots on the Android 14 operating system. Google has committed to 7 years of updates, which include OS updates, security updates, and feature rollouts.
Google Pixel 8a’s new Software update is a maiden software update of 189MB, but it takes a while to install. This update is said to enhance the phone’s security and comes with safeguards to protect your device from potential risks.
