Arrowhead Studios the developer of Heldivers 2 Announced that players will need to link their held diverse to their account with the PlayStation network ID mandatorily.
In this article, we’ll be sharing every detail regarding this announcement.
About Helldivers 2 Mandate
Helldivers 2 is a cooperative third-person shooter game developed by Arrowhead Studios published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and released this year on 8 February 2024.
The Game is the sequel to the popular game Helldivers, released back in 2015. Publishers sold over 8M copies of Game in just 2 months of release.
According to the announcement new PC players have to link their game copy to PlayStation Network ID mandatorily. Without doing it you are not eligible to play from 4 June 2024 onward.
Players will start getting a mandatory login screen from 30 May forcing them to link the account.
Till now linking the game to Playstation Network ID was an optional choice because of “technical issues at launch”.
“Account linking plays a critical role in protecting our players and upholding the values of safety and security provided on PlayStation and PlayStation Studios games. This is our main way to protect players from griefing and abuse by enabling the banning of players that engage in that type of behavior. It also allows those players that have been banned the right to appeal.” said in Steam post.
This post sparked the anger in entire gaming community and Helldivers 2 Players. Players are arguing that they shouldn’t be forced to make another account to play the game they spent their money to buy for no reason.
Arrowhead promised cross-progression would come at some point, but it may be a while before that happens.
