Jio just raised prices on most phone plans by up to 25%. While they didn’t touch some popular plans, they quietly got rid of a few others. This included plans with free access to streaming services (OTT benefits) and some unlimited 5G plans.
Nevertheless, they introduced three additional packages that include unlimited 5G data, which are slightly costlier. Let’s review all the specifics here.
Discontinued Plans by Jio:
Jio Rs 3,662 Prepaid Plan:
Two popular options are no longer available: the Rs 3,662 plan and the Rs 2,999 plan. These plans were popular because they gave you a whopping 2.5GB of data every day for a whole year, plus free subscriptions to SonyLIV and Zee5.
2. Jio Prepaid Plans Rs 909, Rs 806, and 805:
Jio discontinued several prepaid plans that used to come with 84 days validity and 2GB of data/day. The Rs 909 plan also included bundled SonyLIV and Zee5 subscriptions, while the Rs 805 plan had a free Zee5 subscription.
3. Jio Rs 4,498 Prepaid Plan:
The Rs 4,498 pack is used to offer 2GB data/day, 78GB bonus data, and a JioTV Premium subscription for a validity period of 365 days. This plan is no longer available on Jio’s official website.
Jio has also made changes to other plans:
- The popular Rs 1,559 plan now costs Rs 1,899 and no longer includes unlimited 5G data.
- The Rs 61 data booster pack now costs Rs 69 and also doesn’t include unlimited 5G data.
- The Rs 398, Rs 4,498, and Rs 1,198 plans which used to come with JioTV Premium no longer include that subscription.
- Three data voucher plans (Rs 555, Rs 667, and Rs 2878) have also been discontinued.
- The Rs 331 plan that offered 40GB of data for 30 days validity is also no longer available.
It looks like Jio is revamping their prepaid plans and removing some popular options while introducing new ones with unlimited 5G data. Be sure to check their website for the latest plan options and pricing.
New Jio Plans With Unlimited 5G Data:
Jio added these three new Jio Plans with unlimited 5G data add-ons that can be purchased over an active subscription plan and are valid till your main plan validity lasts.
- The Rs 51 data plan comes with 3GB of 4G data and unlimited 5G data.
- The Rs 101 plan offers 6GB of 4G data and unlimited 5G data.
- The Rs 151 plan comes with 9GB of 4G data and unlimited 5G data.
