One Plus’s custom Android UI, OxygenOS, is expected to receive a Beta test update, Oxygen OS15 Update, starting the first week of October. Hopefully, we’ll receive the official update on all devices starting in November while we wait for the official announcement here are some leaks on expected features that might feature in the coming Oxygen OS15 update.

OxygenOS 15 Expected Features:

1.Redesigned Control Center:

Android 15 does not introduce many changes to the user interface, but OxygenOS 15 will. Perhaps the next version of OxygenOS will have a completely redesigned control center, following in the footsteps of iOS and HyperOS.

Inside, the new control center is said to possess two large toggles at the top, similar to HyperOS. Beneath that are a 2×2 media player, a 1×2 brightness slider, and a 1×2 volume panel. The control center is also tipped to possess many 1×1 circular toggles for the remaining quick settings.

The control center is going to be on a single scrollable page, and there is going to be an option to edit the layout so it can be made more personal. It’s also going to enable things like we can do on iOS 18, such as rearranging icons and being able to hide/unhide tablets. In addition, you’re going to find it easy to switch back to the previous layout if you want to.

Perhaps the splitting of the control center and the notification area would be another important change that OxygenOS 15 might bring in. According to the reports, swiping down from the right side shows you the control center, and swiping your way down to the left gives you all your notifications.

2. Return of the Never Settle Easter Egg:

The long-standing OnePlus fan gets served a long-overdue thing: the Never Settle easter egg could make a comeback. Give ‘1+’ a try in the Calculator app and then tap the ‘=’ button.

3. A spate of iOS-inspired changes:

OnePlus is said to be developing the Dynamic Island-like feature into OxygenOS 15, claims reports. The new screen detail sits atop the central punch hole, rather than on the left side.

The new OxygenOS software may bring back to the Camera app the option Live Photos, allowing users to shoot live images. iOS has a similar feature, Live Photos, with the same name. Rumors say that the feature will allow the user to snap short video clips every time he takes a photo, assuming that something is moving.

Oxygen OS 15 will probably also bring a restyled volume slider, similar to iOS. The new slider starts quite large but narrows if pressed again, just like the volume slider behaves on iOS.

4. Lock Screen Customizations:

OxygenOS 15 will bring several lock screen customizations, such as enabling the 3D lock screen. An option would allow users to change the size, position, color, and font size of the clock on the lock screen. There will be multiple presets available.

5. Video Battery Saver:

The feature was surfaced as “Video battery saver” early Android 15 builds running on OnePlus phones. OnePlus could include it in OxygenOS 15 with the new “Video battery saver”. OnePlus says that it will save the battery if a supported video app is leaked so much, and that may prolong the battery life, but a little bit the video-watching experience should be impacted.

In addition to the new features of the development team from OnePlus, many more features will be encountered through the next big update, which are also part of Android 15. We have listed them below.

6. Support for Satellite Connectivity:

Android 15 will support satellite connectivity, and the user will be able to send SMS messages even if there are no cellular towers nearby, but only if they can reach open sky. This is sure to require a special chip and full support from carriers.

7. Theft Detection Lock:

This is one of the most effective features that will make Android 15, hence its realization. It aims at preventing the theft of your data by the thief and also lowers the incentive they receive from selling off the device.

The theft detection lock uses AI on the Google system to decide whether your phone has been stolen from your hands. This locks the device automatically before stealing your data occurs.

In the case that he can easily perform a factory reset on the device, he is not likely to be able to start the device, unless he knows what Google account details were previously used on the device.

8. Split app pairs:

The next major upgrade for OnePlus phones may bring the functionality to create shortcuts for favorite pairs of split-screen apps. It’s a feature that, on huge screens, turns out to be very useful and saves some time.

9. Archiving of Application:

Android 15 will enable you to delete all the unnecessary applications and leave the user data intact. It works as it does in iPhones, offloading. There will not be any data loss when reinstalling or unarchiving the app since you can pick up where you left it.

As noted, app archiving is possible through the Google Play Store in Android phones, where you can archive apps and restore them. Android 15 ties this feature at the OS level, enabling archiving/restoring of apps, whether these were downloaded from within the Google Play Store or not.

10. AI Features:

Every new major software update these days comes out laced with some AI smartness, and OxygenOS 15 will be no exception either. But for that new AI content, we have no idea what to expect. Some would come from the end of OnePlus, while most would come alongside Android 15.

I would reckon that there will be a lot more new features and improvements awaiting in OxygenOS 15 which we will learn soon enough when it becomes public.
