The T-Rex 3 does away with the T-Rex 3’s circular bezel and instead sports an octagonal one. It further sets the device apart, while retaining much of the industrial aesthetic with textured buttons and red accents at key markers.

That upsizes the display to 1.5 inches while adding a whopping 2000 nits of brightness-perfect for checking stats under harsh sunlight. Its predecessor came with a 1.39-inch screen. You get the upgrade with Gorilla Glass protection, plus glove mode for those winter hikes.

The watch straps continue to be 22mm, though the material now is liquid silicone, more comfortable and hygienic.

The T-Rex 3 runs a new ZPS3044 processor coupled with 32GB of storage. As for the software affair, you would notice the Zepp OS 4 interface, AI assistant powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4o, and native app for control over Sonos sound systems.

Fitness tracking remains at the T-Rex 3’s core, too, with 170 supported sports modes and 10ATM water resistance enough for free diving as deep as 45 meters. Skin temperature measuring also joins the usual suspects – heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, and sleep tracking.

Most useful on the new watch, however, is likely its battery-it’s 1.4x bigger than the T-Rex 2 at 700mAh, which offers an exceptionally good battery life of as many as 27 days on typical usage and a whopping 81 days in Basic Watch mode.

It’s said to be capable of providing 42 hours of runtime with the GPS turned on in accuracy mode, 114 hours in battery-saver mode, and an amazing 180 hours in extreme battery-saver mode. With intensive use, however, the battery life claimed drops to just 13 days. The charging time is supposedly 3 hours.
