HMD Global, the company behind Nokia phones, is preparing a new phone called the HMD Skyline. Leaks from earlier this month showed that it would have the look very familiar to the classic Nokia Lumia 920. Now, the phone has shown up on a site testing phone performance, giving us some clues as to what’s inside.

About HMD Skyline:

The leaked benchmark test on Geekbench reveals some of the HMD Skyline’s internals. The listing shows a motherboard codenamed “Tomcat” with 8GB of RAM and an octa-core processor.

This processor likely refers to a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 based on the core configuration – four cores running at 1.96GHz and the other four at 2.40GHz. This suggests a fairly powerful processor with different speeds for its cores, making it suitable for various tasks.

A leaked benchmark test on Geekbench partly reveals the inside mechanisms of the HMD Skyline. This listing will certify the device to run on Android 14 out of the box. In terms of performance, this particular device scores 1027 points on the single-core test and a total of 2857 points on the multi-core test.

To put these into context, this is a fairly capable processor, but Geekbench really doesn’t provide any specific details about it. Luckily, some specifications have leaked before, which should give us a better idea of what to expect from the HMD Skyline.

HMD Skyline Expected Specifications:

A benchmark test on Geekbench has leaked, exposing part of the internal makeup of the HMD Skyline device. According to the listing, it will run Android 14, while most probably be powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor based on that core configuration, should yield decent performance with benchmark scores of 1027 single-core and 2857 multi-core. While Geekbench itself doesn’t tell everything, other leaks shed more light on the phone’s features.

The HMD Skyline is claimed to have an FHD+ OLED display that’s seamless, along with an even-smoother 120Hz refresh rate. Moving on to cameras, it may support a 108MP main sensor, accompanied by an ultra-wide lens and a possible macro or depth sensor. For selfies, it is said to feature a high-resolution camera of 32MP.

On the endurance front, the same leaked documents point to a fairly robust 4,900mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. The phone could also come with stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and IP67 water and dust resistance.

Pricing is still very vague at this point, although a few rumor mills are touting a price of about €520. If the launch window does happen in July, we will still have to see if they turn out to be leaks.
