Xiaomi has introduced a new security surveillance camera, named Xiaomi Smart Camera C500 Dual-Camera Edition. It comes equipped with a dual-lens system and better photo clarity, making it ideal for all-around home surveillance.

The Xiaomi C500 Security Camera, Dual-Camera Edition features an innovative design with two distinct lenses: a wide-angle 4MP lens providing a 110° view, and a 4MP PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) lens with a 58° viewing angle.

This configuration allows for wider areas to be covered and the option to zoom in for a closer look at certain spots. The PTZ lens has 360° rotation in the horizontal direction and 93° tilt in the vertical direction, reducing areas not visible.

The camera’s ability to function in low-light conditions is boosted by a combination of a sensitive image sensor and 16 internal 940nm infrared light sources.

Xiaomi is highlighting the C500’s smart AI features. This camera can identify two types of AI, helping to separate between humans, pets, and even infants who are crying. Additionally, it features a “virtual fence” option that sends out warnings when someone or something crosses an established virtual line.

The camera brings a novel approach with its two-camera setup. By pressing a particular spot on the live feed area, the PTZ lens will adjust and zoom in for a detailed look.

Users have the option to utilize the Mijia App to highlight and examine significant information in a connected way. Moreover, the camera features dual-screen playback, enabling the viewer to watch content from both screens at the same time. Importantly, each lens can be turned off on its own.

To ensure safety, the C500 is equipped with a Mijia security chip integrated into it to block any attempts at unauthorized entry and protect sensitive information. The camera is equipped with a standalone sound chamber and a sizable speaker, ensuring clear communication in both directions.

Moreover, the camera comes with a built-in Wi-Fi 6 chip, boosting its signal power and coverage. It is also compatible with Xiaomi’s Pengpai Zhilian smart home system, enabling it to work seamlessly with other Xiaomi gadgets for automated tasks.
